Description:
This training session focuses on enhancing understanding and application of ethical principles for behavioral healthcare providers (psychologists, counselors, drug and alcohol counselors, and social workers). The training session covers ethical principles, discusses their application, gives examples of common ethical dilemmas, describes an ethical decision-making model, and discusses cultural considerations when making ethical decisions. Ethics are designed to protect the public we serve by safeguarding their interests and giving us direction when conflicting interests arise in providing care.

About the Speaker
Dr. Mark Lukin
Licensed Psychologist
Dr. Mark Lukin is an experienced licensed psychologist with broad training in therapy, ethics, personality disorders, criminal justice, and threat management work, as well as supervision. He has taught 24 college courses, mostly doctoral level, and primarily at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Mark has worked in both private, non-profit, and public settings.
These trainings were funded in whole or in part by funds from the SAMHSA Community Mental Health Block Grant, SAMHSA Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment Block Grant and state funds sub-granted from the Nebraska Department of Health and Services, Division of Behavioral Health.
